Go to open days
One of the best ways to know if a university may be right for you is to have a look at in an open day. You can talk to staff, find out more about your course and look at where you may be staying throughout your time at university.
When thinking about what university you want to go to something that you must think about is the idea that you are not just moving to the university but also to the place the university is situated in. It is important to consider the nightlife, atmosphere, local restaurants and shops in and around the area.

Talk to students
at university
One of the best ways to get a feel of what it is like to study, live and hang out in a city is to talk to students who have or who are studying at the university. You can also get advice from them about the best places to eat, hangout and accommodation to stay at!
If you have a few universities that you are trying to decide between something that can be of much use is phoning up the universities to ask what specialist support they can offer you. It is worth asking them about; funding, accommodation, access arrangements for exams, extra time for coursework and check to see if they offer any other support they may feel as being helpful for you
